As a teacher I could use use Outlines, idea maps, and storyboards in many ways. One lesson plan that you can use either one of these three would be when teaching my class how to write an essay. It does not matter if it is a narrative, expository, or persuasive essay. I can use an outline to set how the ideas and details of how I can going to write an expository essays (one where I am explaining something). I can use an idea map or a story board to write down ideas or any type of essay. They are helpful because they keep your thoughts in order and give you some type of organization. I can use word and inspiration to help me make exples of these for my students and they can hand write their own.
I would encourage my students to develop outlines, idea maps, and story boards when in the writing process because they are very helpful. They help put your jumbles thoughts on paper and make it easier for you to begin writing once all of your ideas are down. It gives you organization in your paper also so your thoughts are not all over the place.
Skills that I have learned in the last week are in Inspirataion, a program that I have never used before. I can use this program in my educational career and it will be very helpful when I need to organize and representing information about a related topic.

A lesson plan that would be easy to plan but would benefit the students very much is a typing lesson. I would take my fifth grade class down to the computer lab and we would use a program designed to help students learn how to type quicker and more accurately. I would explain how to turn the computers on and go through the start button to find the program which we will be using. Then explain how the program works, then lets the students type away! I would answer any questions that they would have. The technology used would be the computers and the application that the typing games are on.
The website www.fsu.edu is used very often by Florida State students and it set up great. There a few rules to follow when setting up a website, and Florida States homepage followed them great. One rule is limit colors. You still want to have enough color to make it interesting but to much bright color would be over kill, this website only uses garnet, gold, and black the schools colors. With the exception of images. Another rule is "Keep Text lines short" this was followed very well because the click able links are only one of two words and the news/events are very brief statements. A third rule is "provide emphasis" this is followed well because there are main topic and headings in bold font or enlarged more then average.
Through out my education so far, when writing a paper i was always told not to plagiarize. Meaning I could not read something out of a book and copy it word for word into my paper. This taking other peoples work and calling it your own and it is wrong. I would teach my students about this and we would do exercises to teach them how to write with their own voice so they don't take others words. Also I would setup a lesson on how to cite your papers, when you do take small points of someone Else's work, you just need to give them credit for it.

post two
As a student I use Microsoft Word almost everyday. The main reason why I use it is to write papers. In English I have a paper due almost every class, and a journal due every Sunday night. I use Word as the application to write my papers in. I have seen teachers use Microsoft word when they need to make lists to show us when is to be done in class that day. Or maybe they will type the assignment on word and put it on the projector to show us what it is.
As a teacher is would chose to use Microsoft Word all the time in my classroom. It is the most common and a very easy word processor to use. I can use it to do almost anything. I can make charts, lists, write up assignments, make worksheets, and many more things. I would also try to teach my students to use word because it will be very helpful in their education.
I did not know how to add symbols, crop and edit pictures, make charts, and add tables. All of these things will be very useful to me in my educational career. I think they will be useful because they are things that can make my teaching a little easier for me to teach and for my students to understand. When using word you can do almost anything they will be necessary to helping me teach effectively.
